Image and video hosting by TinyPic We caught up with Ryan O’Gorman editor of the Burlington Project and resident of Space in Ibiza to find out about all things G-Shock…

Ryan, we know you are massively renowned with the hard core clubbers in Ibiza, but for those of us who aren’t so hardcore would you mind telling us a bit about yourself? Sure, I won’t bore you with too many details though…. I started electricsex with Andy G in 2004 as a Sunday party in Clapham took it to Ibiza that year with great success then brought it to Egg that winter We got named best new night in Time Out. We became residents for VeryVeryVeryWrongIndeed, headlined The Cross NYE, returned to Ibiza in ’05 with a rock solid line up for electricsex. I also started my new night Vitalik with partner in crime Joe Upton in the Redbox at Space for We Love, held bigger free parties, won M8 magazine’s “best upcoming djs” award, set up Sonica Ibiza’s internet station and presented a weekly show with Joe. We also presented the “We Love” show every week on Global and now I am back in London hatching new plans for world domination….Phew! What do you know, looks like I did bore you with lots of details about myself. (laughs)

Tell us a bit about Burlington Project? The Burlington Project has been developed by myself and G-Shock as a guide to electronic music events and as a global news information resource. The content is collated by the people who organize the parties we love and produce the music we are so passionate about. The site becomes a promotional tool where djs and producers can upload their tracks and mixes to their profile pages and submit events.

We like the name! Why did you choose the name Burlington Project? The name came from a secret military project of the same name. It was built as a nuclear fall out bunker in the 50’s to protect the most “important” people in the country in the event of someone dropping the big one, it was in effect an underground city which still lie’s under Wiltshire. The common theme was underground cities, this was what Burlington Project was about, telling people about the things that go on below the surface.

Why did you choose to work with G-Shock? Partly chance, some would say destiny! Mainly I wanted to work with Casio G-Shock because of the people involved and their enthusiasm to support interesting projects that went beyond the normal in and out mentality of a corporate brand. They were looking to get involved in music in a hands on way by creating something rather than basic level association.

What are you doing in Ibiza this summer? As we are launching our Ibiza website we thought it would be rude not to get involved with some party action so we have teamed up with the We Love...Space for the summer. We Love... are the only party organizers who cover literally every every facet of electronic music under one roof and what better place than Space to do a party. G-Shock Burlington Project will be hosting the Redbox for We Love throughout the summer with some of Europes most cutting edge dj’s, producers and vj’s. We will also be hosting show’s on Sonica FM with music from our producers chart and interviews from our guests at Space.

If you could put a G-Shock to its toughest challenge what would it be? I’d ask it to sing don’t cry for me Argentina while drinking a glass of water and dancing the Macarena at the same time.

What is it you love about G-Shock? It can’t dance the Macarena.

What future projects do you have coming up? The Ibiza version of Burlington Project goes live this month so that has been taking up a lot of my energy. I have lived in Ibiza for over 10 years and been part of the alternative music and party scene that goes on here. It’s something most people don’t know about until they come here and experience it. Ibiza has a very commercial image in the mainstream but there is so much more going on here, setting up Burlington Project Ibiza was a real natural progression.
