G-Shock is proud to announce that they will be the headline sponsors for Secret Wars; the world’s premier live art battle event! G-Shock watches, with their colourful and stylish individuality, make them the perfect partner for this innovative and unique event.
Taking place in the darkest corners of each city, art battles are set up and promoted through word of mouth alone, with those in the know spreading the word to artists and art fans. With 16 amazing European locations, including; London, Berlin, Amsterdam and Barcelona, the Secret Wars Euro League has finally arrived.
The rules of the battle are simple: There are 90 minutes on the clock; during which an artist is placed either side of an invisible line. Only black paint can be used on white walls, with no sketches or pencils allowed! The battles are judged by two guest judges and a crowd vote, which is measured using a decibel reader. A clean and fair fight to find the best of Europe’s burgeoning artistic talent.
2009 proved to be a brilliant year for Secret Wars, which included a weeklong tour in New York, headlined by Kanye West! Secret Wars also won the award for innovation at the 31st Arts and Business Awards held at the V&A.
2010 looks set to be even bigger and better, with the founder of Secret Wars, Terry Guy, pushing the limits and adding new concepts into the mix. New towns from the existing Secret War’s contestants, keen to prove their artistic prowess, are getting involved by putting together a team of reputable and up and coming artists to help produce a “Champions League.”
This year’s Secret Wars, proudly sponsored by G-Shock, the toughest and most stylish watches around, is coming to a city near you!
