London, UK, June 11th 2009: This summer, G-Shock is proud to announce their local collaboration with hot design duo Jaiden RVA James. Sharing G-Shock’s passion for cutting edge technology twinned with wearable designs, Jaiden RVA James were the perfect choice for a local collaborative project with the brand.
The limited edition Jaiden RVA James G-Shock boasts a quirky abstract graphic inspired by G-Shock’s Japanese heritage. The styling of the stunning monochrome design is reminiscent of Japanese Animé with individual images holding symbolic meaning. The robot with flexed muscles is a motif designed to represent G-Shock’s strength and durability and is a nod to Casio’s place as a forerunner within the technology industry.
Since debuting in Spring Summer 08 with a Luxury Sportswear collection, fashion designers Rasharn de Vera Agymang and Jaiden James have used their label as an opportunity to experiment with the fit and cut of a garment and its importance in relation to the wearer’s body and lifestyle. Commenting on their irreverent design for G-Shock, the duo said: ‘We tried to incorporate everything G-Shock stands for and were flattered to be asked to design a bespoke watch for a brand with such heritage, history, accessible price points and iconic designs.’
